More about Rick Mann

 

In addition to his thriving legal practice, Rick is active in his local community, as well as the Greater Boston Jewish community. He is the current chair of the New England Holocaust Memorial Advisory Committee, and previously served as the president of the Friends of the New England Holocaust Memorial, which built and maintains the nationally acclaimed Memorial to the Holocaust along Boston’s Freedom Trail. Rick is a past president of both the American Jewish Committee’s Greater Boston Chapter and the Leventhal-Sidman Jewish Community Center, as well as a past vice president of the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Boston. He has also served as a member of the Board of Overseers of the Newton-Wellesley Hospital and as a director of the American Anti-Slavery Group.

A portion of Rick’s legal practice is devoted to pro bono matters assisting victims of modern-day slavery. In 2000, Rick served as the statewide chairman of the Committee to Encourage Charitable Giving which led a successful effort to adopt a charitable state tax deduction in Massachusetts. He has been honored by the American Association of Jewish Holocaust Survivors of Greater Boston for his advocacy on behalf of Holocaust survivors and is the recipient of the 2006 Community Service Award from the American Jewish Committee.

Rick currently serves as a Town Meeting Member in Needham, Massachusetts, where he resides with his wife, Sophie, and their dog, Manny. Their son, Alex, works for a start-up in Los Angeles, California, and their daughter, Stephanie, is a writer in Boston.
